Philosophers and Fools will host a Sparkling Wine and Oyster Class with certified sommelier Sarah O’Kelley and certified oyster specialist Isabella MacBeth from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the bookstore bar, 50 Bogard St.
Tickets are $95. The class will explore the science of oyster evaluation, the various types of sparkling wine, and how each wine pairs uniquely with each type of oyster. Guests will sample four wines—a Prosecco, a Cava, and two Champagnes—and four types of oysters (a dozen per person). The session will also include detailed information about the featured wines and oysters, time for questions, and an order sheet for purchasing favorite wines for pickup.
