With just days remaining, Pet Helpers is making a final call to the Charleston community to join its 25th annual Oyster Roast, taking place Sunday, Feb. 22, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Bowens Island.
The Lowcountry tradition is more than an afternoon of oysters and waterfront views — it is Pet Helpers’ premier fundraising event of the year, and organizers say support is needed now more than ever.
Guests will enjoy all-you-can-eat oysters, complimentary beer, wine and Bloody Marys, music, a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle, all set against the coastal backdrop of Bowens Island. Proceeds from the event directly support Pet Helpers and the animals in its care.
Advance tickets are $75. Tickets will be available at the gate for $100, if space allows. The event has a strong history of selling out, and supporters are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance.
“This year is already off to a major start, with more animals in our care than ever before,” said Melissa Susko, executive director of Pet Helpers. “Every contribution and every show of support truly matters. This Oyster Roast is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and we need our community to show up for the animals who rely on us.”
Susko said the event is about more than fundraising.
“More than anything, this event allows us to get face to face with our supporters — to see you in person, thank you, and share smiles, laughter and good times together,” she said. “It’s a celebration of our animals and the people of Charleston who love them.”
For 25 years, the Pet Helpers Oyster Roast has brought together animal lovers, families and friends for a relaxed afternoon that captures the spirit of Charleston while creating impact for animals in need.
