Oliver Pluff & Co., the Charleston-based company dedicated to "preserving the tradition of time-honored teas and early American coffee blends," on Wednesday announced the grand opening of its first retail store on Thursday, May 29 at 49 John St. in downtown Charleston.
The new store offers locals and visitors the opportunity to explore the tradition of early American beverages in person and will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Oliver Pluff has always been proud to call Charleston home, and the city’s deep-rooted history makes it the perfect setting for our first brick-and-mortar location,” said owner Darren Hartford. “At Oliver Pluff, we believe every cup tells a story, and this store allows us to share some of those stories as well as the heritage of tea that shaped early America in a personal way with Charleston locals and visitors alike.”
The veteran-owned company is known for its historically-inspired products, including various hot and iced teas, toddies, coffees, cacao, and more. While the storefront will not offer beverage service for consumption on site, shoppers can expect to find packaged blends like the Colonial Bohea, English Breakfast, Earl Grey, and popular Summer Toddy mixes, as well as Early American coffee. The store will also feature exclusive rotating high-end teas, curated gifts and accessories available only in-store.
