On Feb. 23 and 24, Grassroots Wine will host a two-day conference in Charleston convening national leaders in regenerative agriculture, farming and winemaking.
The gathering invites members of the food and beverage community to begin with wine — and move beyond the glass — to examine the agricultural systems that shape what is grown, served and poured. The program will explore soil health, biodiversity and root-level microbiomes, the systems that directly influence wine quality and crop vitality.
Through keynote addresses, classroom sessions and collaborative dialogue, the conference will highlight the practical work redefining how land is farmed and how wine is understood.
Monday, February 23 | Charleston Music Hall
The conference opens at the historic Charleston Music Hall with keynote presentations from leaders in farming and winemaking, including Michel Nischan (Wholesome Wave), Will and Jenni Harris (White Oak Pastures), Dr. Allen Williams (Understanding Ag), Pascaline Lepeltier (Chambers NYC; author of Mille Vignes), Chiara Pepe (Emidio Pepe), Brenna Quigley (Roadside Terroir Podcast), and Kelsey Keener (Sequatchie Cove Farm).
The evening concludes with a Grand Tasting at Sterling Hall at Hyatt House Charleston Historic District, hosted by Grassroots Wine and featuring producers from around the world, with many speakers pouring their own wines.
Tuesday, February 24 | Sterling Hall
Day two features interactive classroom sessions led by farmers and winemakers including Morgan Twain-Peterson (Bedrock Vineyard), Raj Parr (Phelan Farms), Abe Schoener (Scholium Project), Clare Carver (Big Table Farm), Steve and Jill Matthiasson (Matthiasson Family Vineyards), and others.
The conference concludes with a live, on-stage symposium bringing speakers together in a moderated conversation before all attendees to synthesize insights and discuss how regenerative principles can meaningfully shape the future of food and beverage. Grounded in the belief that responsible farming strengthens both land and community, the conference aims to equip and inspire the next generation of food and beverage professionals.
