Munkle Brewing Company has announced a new culinary partnership with Charleston restaurant Mi Xao, bringing Vietnamese comfort food to the brewery’s Upper Peninsula taproom.
Mi Xao, led by longtime local chef Anh Toan Ho, has been a Charleston favorite for more than 15 years. The collaboration, called Mi Xao @ Munkle, will feature dishes such as pho, banh mi, dumplings, rice bowls, Chicken Curry with lemongrass and coconut milk, Crispy Pork Bánh Mì, Beef Pho, and Truffle Edamame.
The pop-up will operate inside the taproom five days a week: Tuesday through Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m.
“Our taproom has always been about great beer, community, and craftsmanship,” said Munkle Brewing founder Palmer Quimby. “Partnering with Mi Xao adds another layer of that. It’s soulful food, made by people who love what they do, just like we do.”
Guests can pair the food with Munkle’s lineup of award-winning beers, including the crowd-favorite Munk Pils, Belgian ales, barrel-aged selections, and other hoppy offerings, as well as wines, ciders, seltzers, and nonalcoholic options.
Munkle Brewing recently celebrated its eighth anniversary and has expanded distribution to South Carolina, North Carolina, and Alabama.
