Lowcountry Food Bank (LCFB) and its partner food pantries provide nutritious foods for our neighbors and empower them to choose the healthy options that will nourish their families.
Lowcountry Food Bank's Nutrition Team helps our neighbors thrive in many ways, including:
- Support of their partner food pantries through recipes, food sampling, and setting up choice food pantry models that support dignity by allowing neighbors to select foods that meet their families' need
- Nutrition education classes for neighbors
- A Learning Center that helps educate its partner food pantries to create a welcoming environment for neighbors and assist them in creating budget-friendly meals from ingredients they choose at food pantries.
Double your donation to support LCFB’s Nutrition Programming through March 31st
Through March 31st, The Neumeyer Family Fund has generously committed $30,000 to support Lowcountry Food Bank’s Nutrition Programming – and they want to challenge our community to match their gift. Donate here: https://lowcountryfoodbank.
This match comes at a critical time.
Due to recent cuts to SNAP benefits and the elimination of the federal nutrition education program, SNAP-Ed, LCFB lost critical funding that helps its neighbors learn how to stretch food dollars, cook healthy meals on a budget, and make informed decisions at the grocery store.
Through hands-on classes taught by LCFB’s dedicated Nutrition Team, neighbors gain practical skills and confidence to make healthy, affordable choices for themselves and their families.
Your support is more important than ever. Dollar for dollar, your gift will be matched up to $30,000, helping raise $60,000 to support LCFB’s Nutrition Programming in celebration of National Nutrition Month!
“We strongly believe that nutritious food alongside education can transform the life of a child and their families’ lives. The Food Bank’s strategic nutrition programs empower our neighbors to make healthy choices. We are honored we can be a part of this initiative and invite you to join us in securing nutrition programs for the year.”
