Epic Hospitality, the group behind Charleston staples Mex 1 Coastal Cantina and Islander 71, is set to open Lou Lou’s Tavern on the Tracks this spring. Located at the Refinery, Lou Lou’s will be a "modern, music-driven tavern."
“We build restaurants where people never leave on time, and that’s the point,” said Dave Lorenz, who cofounded Epic Hospitality with his wife Chrissy in 2012. “Lou Lou’s will be no different. It’s the kind of place where you stop checking your phone. You order one more. That’s what we’ve always built, and at The Refinery, we have a stage worthy of it.”
The Lou Lou's team says the menu is designed for "sharing and pacing, with a focus on dinner and late night service." The bar program will feature cocktails and wines on tap, with local partnerships woven into the program.
“From the beginning, our vision for The Refinery has been to create a place where food, music, and culture intersect in a meaningful way,” said Lindsay Nevin, founder and CEO of Flyway, who founded The Refinery. “Lou Lou’s is a natural extension of that vision and adds an exciting new layer to the experience we’re building here.”
Lou Lou's will be located at 1640 Meeting St., Suite 101 (the former home of Cleats). Additional details, including opening date and preview events, will be announced in the coming weeks. For updates, follow along on Instagram @louloustavern or visit louloustavern.com.
