Legami, the contemporary Italian restaurant on King Street, is hosting a Valentine’s Day dinner inspired by the film The Notebook. One of the movie’s most iconic scenes — in which Allie and Noah lie in the street — was filmed at the corner where the restaurant is located.
On Saturday, Feb. 14, Legami will offer a four-course dinner priced at $135, with each course named after memorable lines from the film. The experience will also feature themed cocktails, including the Noah Calhoun, made with bourbon, crème de mûre, blackberries, lemon and mint absinthe, and the Allie Hamilton, featuring vodka, spiced pear liqueur, dry vermouth, lavender, orgeat and Champagne.
Menu highlights include:
- “If you’re a bird, I’m a bird” — Legami oysters topped with balsamic grape reduction and pickled onions
- “You are, and always have been, my dream” — Choice of scallop crudo with roasted corn crema, pickled green tomatoes, Calabrian chili and marinated onions, or foie gras escalope with orange sauce, candied oranges, oregano breadcrumbs and mustard emulsion
- “I want all of you, forever” — Choice of tagliolini vongole with clams, white wine, parsley and chili flakes, topped with bottarga, or raviolone with ricotta, spinach and egg yolk, served with brown butter and black truffle
- “It wasn’t over. It still isn’t over” — Choice of filetto, pan-seared filet mignon with roasted mushrooms, red wine reduction and potato puree, or aragosta, balsamic honey-glazed lobster with bok choy, Italian aromatic white wine emulsion and dijonnaise
- “The best love is the kind that awakens the soul” — Sponge cake with fresh strawberries, white chocolate and chantilly cream
Upon arrival, each guest will receive a red rose along with their menu, presented in a wax-sealed envelope with dried lavender flowers. The space will be decorated with candles and roses, and a screening of The Notebook will play on the patio alongside live jazz music. Guests will also have the opportunity to recreate the iconic street scene in front of the restaurant, which will be closed to traffic for the evening.
