Charleston diners can now experience a taste of Chicago without leaving the Lowcountry.
On Air, Republic Hospitality's entertainment and dining venue in downtown Charleston, has partnered with Food Network personality Jeff Mauro and Mauro Provisions to introduce the Chicago Torch (pictured), a signature sandwich built around Mauro Provisions' authentic Chicago-style Italian beef.
The collaboration brings together Mauro's Chicago culinary roots and the creativity of On Air Executive Chef Michael Watson, who worked with the Mauro Provisions team to bring the sandwich to Charleston.
Known as the winner and host of Sandwich King and co-host of The Kitchen, Mauro has become one of television's most recognizable sandwich experts. Through Mauro Provisions, he has expanded his passion for authentic Chicago flavors beyond television, making this collaboration a natural extension of that mission.
"I'm so excited! Charleston is my favorite food city on the planet," Mauro said. "And now folks can get my Mauro Provisions beef and signature giardiniera at my favorite new spot there, On Air."
The Chicago Torch features Mauro Provisions Italian beef, mild giardiniera, rich beef au jus and crusty French bread, giving Charleston diners an authentic Chicago classic while adding a new culinary option to the city's dining scene.
"This collaboration lets us bring something to Charleston that guests simply can't find anywhere else," Watson said. "It's an authentic Chicago experience made with premium ingredients from Jeff Mauro and Mauro Provisions, and we're excited to introduce it to both locals and visitors."
The Chicago Torch is now available at On Air whenever the kitchen is open.
