Bartenders across the Carolinas and Tennessee are invited to submit original recipes for nonalcoholic THC mixed drinks — known as “highbations” — as part of the inaugural High Rise Highbation Awards, hosted this Dry January by Charleston-based High Rise Beverage Co..
Launched to celebrate the debut of High Rise’s new THC Infusions, the competition offers beverage professionals an opportunity to incorporate thoughtfully crafted ingredients and a THC element into nonalcoholic menus. Participants will compete for a $500 prize, High Rise merchandise and a featured moment during Charleston Wine + Food.
“With big lime flavor and aromatics, High Rise THC Infusions are made with mixology in mind,” said Matt Skinner, founder of High Rise. “We designed this ingredient to keep people social, curious and inspired while giving bartenders more room to explore their craft. The Southeast is home to some of the country’s most innovative mixologists, and we can’t wait to see what they create.”
To enter, bartenders must create an original recipe featuring High Rise THC Infusions and submit photos along with a short video demonstrating the drink’s preparation. Entries must be received by Jan. 31.
Judging will take place Feb. 2. Additional details and the entry form are available online.
