Hampton Park will soon become home to a new weekly farmers market celebrating the Lowcountry’s farmers, producers and food artisans.
Beginning June 10 and continuing through July 1, the Hampton Park Farmers Market will take place every Wednesday from 3:30 to 7 p.m., creating a vibrant midweek gathering space for residents and visitors alike.
The market is a collaboration between Basic Kitchen co-owner Eva Suarez, local entrepreneur Brooks Reitz and The M.A.R.S.H. Project. Drawing on longstanding relationships with local farmers and food producers, the group worked with the Charleston Parks Conservancy and the City of Charleston to bring a community-focused market experience to the Wagner Terrace and Upper Peninsula neighborhoods.
A true weekly gathering place, the Hampton Park Farmers Market will also feature a bar operated by Basic Kitchen, with beer, wine and soft drinks available for purchase. With a commitment to sustainability and community connection, the market offers neighbors a chance to gather and shop directly from the people growing and producing food throughout the Lowcountry.
Located near the Rose Pavilion, the Hampton Park Farmers Market will feature a curated lineup of local vendors offering fresh produce, flowers, bread, honey, meats, mushrooms and other locally made products. Participating vendors include Bear Swamp Flowers, Brandon's Bread, Chucktown Acres, Counter Cheesemongers, Green Heart, Holy City Hogs, Kindlewood Farm, Little Wing Honey, Lowcountry Fungi and Lowland Farms, with additional vendors expected to join throughout the season.
The market will also provide a platform for The M.A.R.S.H. Project, a grassroots initiative dedicated to restoring and preserving Charleston’s local marshlands.
The Hampton Park Farmers Market begins Wednesday, June 10, and will continue weekly from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at Hampton Park, located at 30 Mary Murray Drive in Charleston.
