Frothy Beard Off World, a brewery and taproom operated by Frothy Beard Brewing Company that has served the Summerville community for five years, will close Feb. 28, the business announced Tuesday. The original location at 1401 Sam Rittenberg Blvd. in West Ashley will remain open.
According to a social media post from Frothy Beard, the company has chosen to let its lease at Hutchinson Square expire and will begin searching for a new property.

“Friends of Frothy and the greater Charleston area,
"Five years ago, we landed in Summerville, SC to open our second location - Frothy Beard Off World. The goal was simple: to share the Frothy experience, our delicious food and craft beers with even more members of our community. It’s been quite the adventure to say the least! As times change and we near the end of our lease on Hutchinson Square, we have made the calculated and difficult decision not to renew as we seek our next property. Our hope is to find a location in which we can host even more events, have a patio to enjoy the Lowcountry weather, an experimental brewhouse for all kinds of new beers, and to expand the Off World kitchen to include...you guessed it, our pizza!
"With that said, this isn’t goodbye rather than us saying we look forward to seeing you soon! In the meantime, you can still find us in West Ashley (1401 Sam Rittenberg Blvd.) to satisfy that Frothy fix! Several of the Summerville team members will be transferring down so please come by to say hello to old friends and make some new ones alike. We’ve got a lot of fun events and projects we’re working on and can’t wait to share all that is ahead! Outside of the taproom, you can still find our beer all over the Charleston area at some of the coolest bars / restaurants as well as various craft retail outlets.
