Downtown restaurant Fleet Landing is launching “Friends of Our Fish,” a new series designed to connect locals with the purveyors who bring food to the tables across restaurants and homes every day.
This quarterly pop-up guest series will encourage locals and visitors to learn about the seafood purveyors behind their favorite Fleet dishes. On select days throughout the year, the restaurant will invite a local purveyor partner into the restaurant to interact with guests and educate them about their business, Charleston’s ecosystem and how their product makes its way from the sea to the restaurant. They will also serve menu specials highlighting the purveyor’s seafood product during each pop-up.
The debut event will be held on Thursday, March 20 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The first guest of the series will be Andrew Jones (pictured), founder of Bird Island Oyster Co. Jones supplies local, wild oysters to restaurants throughout South Carolina – including Fleet Landing.
Attendees will be able to purchase a half-dozen Bird Island Oyster Co. oysters and receive a complimentary pint of Three Fleets to the Wind ($20). Available from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. only.
Fleet Landing is located at 186 Concord Street.
