Celebrity chef Sean Brock today announced that he is returning to Charleston to open a restaurant on Calhoun Street, this according to a report from Eater Carolinas.
In May of 2019, the James Beard Award-winning chef announced that he was cutting ties with the Neighborhood Dining Group, which at the time, was behind popular restaurants Husk, Minero, McCrady’s and McCrady's Tavern, to concentrate on his Nashville restaurants (Audrey, Joyland, and June).
Brock is back in the Holy City this weekend for the Food & Wine Classic and made the announcement during his Friday seminar that he’s bringing a Joyland location to Charleston.
According to Eater Carolinas, the restaurant is expected to open this year and will be located at 145 Calhoun Street, which is the former home to Hero Doughnuts.
