To kick-off tomato season, Duke’s Mayonnaise will return to Charleston for its 5th annual Hot Tomato Summer celebration of mayonnaise and tomatoes.
Participating restaurants will create signature dishes showcasing this classic pairing, whether it's a fresh take on the classic BLT, a tomato-inspired cocktail, or an innovative mayo-infused dessert. These special menu items will be featured throughout the 10-day duration of Hot Tomato Summer, from July 17-27.
There are over 88 participating Charleston restaurants including Millers All Day, King BBQ, The Darling Oyster Bar, The Gin Joint, Bar Moxy, and Jackrabbit Filly to name a few. From now through Sunday, July 27th these restaurants will be serving up Duke’s and tomato sandwiches, bao buns, tostadas, casseroles — and even gin milk punch.
Throughout the course of this 10-day event, diners have the chance to nominate their favorite dish, with the restaurant in each city with the most love by the end of the event taking home the coveted Golden Tomato Award. Also, back by popular demand is Duke’s "VenMayo." Duke’s will randomly send cash via Venmo to fans who post their Hot Tomato Summer dish on Instagram tagging both the restaurant and @dukes_mayonnaise.
