Harbour Club at WestEdge will host Cocktails for a Cause on Jan. 20, 2026, in preparation for the debut of the College of Charleston Orchestra and Opera Program in Boston this spring.
The College of Charleston School of the Arts is considered the artistic heartbeat of Charleston, with extensive programming spanning the visual and performing arts. The college’s orchestra and opera programs have been invited to perform at the prestigious Boston Instrumental Festival at Boston Symphony Hall as part of the USA 250 Celebration in March.
In 2025, the orchestra achieved a major milestone with a performance at Carnegie Hall in collaboration with the Charleston Symphony and the Charleston Symphony Youth Orchestra, following its highly regarded debut at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in 2024.
The orchestra showcases the talent of School of the Arts student musicians, presenting concerts throughout the year with internationally renowned guest artists under the direction of acclaimed conductor Yuriy Bekker. Students from the opera program, under the direction of lyric soprano Saundra DeAthos-Meers, will also perform at the event.
Cocktails for a Cause will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, at the Harbour Club, 22 WestEdge St., Suite 700, Charleston. The event will include light bites and a cash bar. Two hours of free parking will be available in the garage above Publix at 10 WestEdge St.
Tickets are available at https://tinyurl.com/yyppmdhb or through the Harbour Club for members. For more information about the Boston Instrumental Festival performance or to support the orchestra and opera programs, visit go.charleston.edu/cofc-boston.
