Charleston's culinary scene has garnered some national acclaim with Chubby Fish being named one of The New York Times’ 50 Best Restaurants in America.
Located on Coming Street, Chubby Fish is helmed by Chef James London, a College of Charleston alumnus. The restaurant is renowned for its ever-evolving menu, which emphasizes sustainable sourcing and seasonal ingredients.
The restaurant only has 40 seats, so residents frequently see a line starting outside Chubby Fish around 4 p.m. each day. Guests in line have the option to either dine at 5 p.m. when the restaurant opens or put their name down for a time later in the evening. They do not start taking names until the doors open at 5 p.m.
