Cider Mill Press, an imprint of HarperCollins Focus, announced today the upcoming release of South Carolina Cocktails: An Elegant Collection of Over 100 Recipes Inspired by the Palmetto State. The addition to Cider Mill’s celebrated collection of location-themed cocktail books will be available for purchase Feb. 10, 2026.
South Carolina Cocktails explores the state’s rich history, charming cities and lush landscapes through its unique cocktail culture. With more than 100 recipes and numerous bartender profiles, the book allows readers to experience the state’s spirited lifestyle, whether they are residents mixing drinks for friends or visitors looking to bring a piece of their travels back home. From rooftop bars to beachfront shacks, the book highlights venues offering an authentic taste of South Carolina’s diverse drinking scenes and celebrates the region’s top mixologists and their signature concoctions through an insider’s guide to must-visit spots across the state.
The book is written by Stephanie Burt, a Charleston-based writer, audio producer and host of the acclaimed podcast The Southern Fork. Burt’s work has been featured in Saveur, The Washington Post, CNN’s Parts Unknown, Condé Nast Traveler and The Bitter Southerner. With South Carolina Cocktails, Burt brings her deep love for the state and her expertise in documenting Southern foodways to the world of cocktails.
“I sincerely love my adopted home state of South Carolina and have spent the past 20 years documenting its foodways,” Burt said. “This book gave me the opportunity to turn the dining chair into a barstool and visit small towns and big cities, documenting the drinking culture and creativity in the state. It was a wonderful excuse to find new places to love in the state, and I hope it will inspire readers to do the same.”
South Carolina Cocktails is the latest addition to Cider Mill Press’s City Cocktails series, an extensive collection of location-themed cocktail books that includes titles inspired by states such as Texas, Colorado and Florida; cities including San Francisco, New York, Sydney and London; and countries including Italy.
