The City of Charleston has modified the operating hours for the Charleston Farmers Market on Saturday, July 11, at Marion Square.
Due to the forecasted heat, the market will operate from 8 a.m. to noon, closing two hours earlier than its normal schedule.
Forecasts indicate high temperatures and elevated heat index values across the Charleston area, with the hottest conditions expected during the afternoon. Closing the market early will help protect vendors, staff and visitors from prolonged heat exposure.
Patrons are encouraged to shop early in the morning, when temperatures are expected to be cooler and conditions more comfortable.
Attendees are also encouraged to stay hydrated, wear light clothing and look out for one another while enjoying the market.
