On Feb. 20, Cannon Distillery will host the public release of Sovereignty, a malted rye whiskey that reflects patience, intention and a deep respect for grain-driven craft. The celebration is free and open to the public.
Selected as the Charleston Brown Water Society Derby raffle bottle, Sovereignty earned its distinction through both character and complexity. On the palate, it delivers peppery spice balanced by honeyed depth, unfolding into a long, architectural finish that lingers with purpose rather than noise.
“This is a rye made to talk about,” said Head Distiller Roderick Weaver. “And more importantly, one made to return to.”
Sovereignty — Malted Rye will be available in limited quantities for $49 on Feb. 20 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cannon Distillery. The release is free and open to the public.
