AMOR Healing Kitchen, a local nonprofit that serves healthy plant-based meals to community members facing serious health challenges while also empowering teens through service, is hosting an Open House on September 28th to launch its expanded Grab & Grow shop. The event will run from 10 am to 2 pm.
Grab and Grow is a service provided by AMOR that makes locally-sourced, organic meals available for purchase, enabling the wider community to experience the health benefits of plant-based meals and providing another source of funding for its mission. The Grab and Grow items are prepped for you to reheat and eat.
The Open House will include a Block Party that features sidewalk sales, games/crafts for the kids, music, and plant-based foods. Plus, two local authors will be signing books on site - NYT Bestselling author, Dr. B author of The Fiber Fueled Cookbook and Jessica Murname author of Know Your Endo.
AMOR Healing Kitchen is located at 2 Magnolia Road in Avondale (the former home of Kaminsky’s).
For more than six years, AMOR Healing Kitchen has been bringing the benefits of plant-based eating to individuals facing critical health challenges while also supporting local farmers and engaging teen volunteers. The non-profit has served more than 45,000 meals to date and 80% of them free for clients in need.
Private contributions remain the organization’s primary source of funding along with its Grab and Grow service. Additional ways to support AMOR Healing Kitchen include: making a one-time or recurring donation to ensure services continue to be available to clients in need, gifting the program to a friend or family member, volunteering as a teen chef, delivery angel or kitchen mentor and encouraging companies to become corporate sponsors.
