Taylor Festival Choir - Sea to Shining Sea
The Taylor Festival Choir opens its 2026-2027 season with a concert entitled “Sea to Shining Sea: An American Tribute” on Oct. 18, 3 p.m., at Circular Congregational Church. Tickets are available at www.taylorfestivalchoir.org
The Taylor Festival Choir–whose latest album is on this season’s Grammy ballot in three categories–will serve as the musical centerpiece for the concert. TFC will be joined by fiddler Karin McQuade and guitarist Andrae Raffield as they set toes to tappin’ with rousing America Old Time tunes. The concert will also feature the newly fashioned TFC Barbershop Quartet, singing timeless barbershop favorites such as “Goodbye My Coney Island Baby” and "Shine on Me.”
The Taylor Festival Choir will perform American patriotic offerings such as God Bless America, America the Beautiful, Pastures of Plenty and our national anthem as well as American choral masterworks Agnus Dei (a choral setting of the famed Adagio for Strings) by Samual Barber, the opening movement of Randall Thompson’s Testament of Freedom, Jubilant Song by Norman Dello Joio, Cloudburst by Eric Whitacre, and works by the late Moses Hogan.
The Taylor Festival Choir (TFC) is an internationally honored Charleston-based twenty-four voice chamber choir, founded and led by Dr. Robert Taylor. TFC has performed at numerous prestigious national choral conferences, tours nationally and internationally, and recently released its fifth commercial album on the Parma Navona recording label.
