Charleston, SC – This Halloween weekend, South Carolina Ballet returns to Charleston Music Hall with William Starrett’s spellbinding production of Dracula: Ballet With A Bite. Performances take place Thursday, October 30, and Friday, October 31, 2025, at 7:30 p.m.
Since its electrifying 1991 premiere, Starrett’s Dracula has enthralled audiences across the Southeast with its hypnotic blend of passion, suspense, and theatrical magic. Each year, new elements are added to heighten the experience—ensuring no two performances are ever the same.
Hailed by Dance Magazine as “an entertaining extravaganza that guarantees the audience a good time,” the ballet fuses dazzling visuals, evocative lighting, and striking special effects with Starrett’s dramatic choreography.
The production is set to an original rock/jazz score by Thomas E. Semanski, whose music for Dracula earned him an ASCAP popular music award. The result is a seductive and immersive atmosphere that draws audiences into a world of enchantment, danger, and desire.
