Carolina Days
We join the South Carolina Sestercentennial Commission community in celebrating Carolina Days at Middleton Place. We take today to celebrate all things South Carolina!
Free with General Admission.
Wax Seal Stamping (12-2): A common method of sealing letters during the 18th century was using a stamp to create an impression in wax. Join us from 12:00pm- 2:00pm in this drop-in style program to create your own wax seal impression. Guests will have the opportunity to take home their own wax seal creation.
Indigo flag making (12-2): During this drop-in style program, guests can dye a square piece of fabric and attach it to a wooden dowl to make an indigo blue flag, the same color used in the South Carolina state flag. Participants will be able to take home their creation.
Spy Trail (all day): Pick up the Spy Trail booklet from the Visitor’s Center and use the clues to find various South Carolina symbols throughout the property. Learn why each symbol is significant to the state, particularly during the American Revolution.
“What Makes Our Community Special?” Wall (all day): Our community is a special place with unique stories. On June 27th, share your favorite foods, traditions, locations, or memories in the Charleston community on the “What Makes Our Community Special” Wall. Located in the Carriage House, this temporary board will honor our exceptional community.
