This Saturday, May 13th, from 8 am to 11 am, Pet Helpers will host a Community Pet Food Distribution Event to help residents in the Lowcountry who may need additional support providing the necessary supplies to care for their beloved pets. This event was made possible with the donation of nearly 40,000 pounds (24 pallets) of food and supplies from Chewy and The Humane Society of the United States.
“More pet owners are surrendering their animals because they can no longer afford to care for them with the rising costs of food and supplies,” said Melissa Susko, Executive Director. “The Community Distribution Day event allows us to help those individuals and families who could use a helping hand. We are thankful to Chewy and our partnership with the Humane Society of the United States for allowing us the opportunity to help our neighbors in need.”
