Legendary rock icons ZZ Top and country superstar Dwight Yoakam are teaming up for the first time ever on the Dos Amigos Tour, making a stop at the North Charleston Coliseum on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Tickets for the performance go on sale Friday, November 21 at 10 a.m. online at Ticketmaster.com.
This unique co-billed tour finds ZZ Top and Yoakam alternating opening and closing sets as they bring their signature Texas blues-rock and Bakersfield-influenced country to fans across the country.
Although Yoakam and ZZ Top frontman Billy F. Gibbons have been close friends for decades—even roommates at one point—this tour marks their first major run of shows together. Gibbons recalled their early days in Hollywood, when renovations forced him out of his home: Yoakam offered him a place to stay, beginning a long-lasting friendship that now finally reaches the concert stage.
Yoakam shared his excitement about joining forces at last:
“Ever since 1973 when the Tres Hombres album came out and I heard ‘La Grange,’ I’ve been a fan of Billy Gibbons and that ‘Little Ol’ Band From Texas,’ ZZ Top. We’d never managed to merge ourselves musically and play shows together—until now. I look forward to making musical mischief with Billy, Frank, and Elwood this spring.”
Gibbons added on behalf of bandmates Frank Beard and Elwood Francis:
“To say we’re looking forward to sharing these concert bills with Dwight Yoakam is an understatement. We’re thinking of it as a musical summit meeting where rock and country cross-pollination top the agenda.”
Since forming in 1969, ZZ Top has sold over 60 million albums worldwide, earned multiple Gold and Platinum certifications, notched eight Top 40 singles, and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Their enduring mix of blues grit and rock swagger has made them one of America’s most beloved touring bands.
With more than 25 million albums sold, 12 gold albums, and 9 platinum or multi-platinum releases, Dwight Yoakam remains one of American music’s most distinctive voices. A 21-time GRAMMY nominee and multiple-time winner, Yoakam is also an acclaimed actor, appearing in more than 40 films including Sling Blade, Panic Room, and Cry Macho.
