Turn90, a South Carolina-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting formerly incarcerated men, today announced the Charleston premiere of Turning Point, a documentary offering an inside look at the challenges and triumphs of individuals seeking a fresh start after incarceration. The screening will take place on Wednesday, April 30 at the Charleston Music Hall.
Produced by acclaimed filmmaker Scott Galloway of Susie Films, the film was made possible through a partnership with the ETV Endowment and South Carolina ETV (SCETV). The film debuted on SCETV on Monday, March 17.
Turning Point highlights the powerful, personal stories of men whose lives have been changed through Turn90’s innovative approach to reentry and workforce development. The film delves into the lives of men navigating the challenges of reintegration after serving time, offering a deeply human perspective on the cycle of recidivism and the power of second chances.
“The men in this film are part of a group that is too often forgotten and rarely given a voice,” said Amy Barch, Founder and Executive Director of Turn90. “Their experiences, struggles, and successes deserve to be seen and heard. We are deeply grateful to SCETV, the ETV Endowment, and Susie Films for recognizing their value and helping to bring their stories to light. Turning Point presents their journey in a way that is honest, powerful, and necessary.”
Doors for the local event open at 5:00 p.m., followed by the movie screening and a panel discussion with the filmmaking team and key individuals featured in the film. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the Turn90 team and the men at the heart of this story. To RSVP for the free event, register here.
