On Friday, Oct. 23, Tin Roof in Charleston will host Cosmic Culture Club: MUTATION, a new screening, live performance and dance party celebrating local and regional artists, with an emphasis on Southern LGBTQ artists and filmmakers.
For spooky season, the inaugural theme is MUTATION, exploring transformation, survival and what comes next through film, video art, performance, music, costumes and all things weird.
The evening will begin with a curated film and video art screening featuring some of Charleston’s award-winning filmmakers, followed by performances from Queen Conch and Venus Alexander. Alexander will also host the event. DJs Web Hollow and Leo Lynx will perform, with one additional artist to be announced.
The first gathering will serve as a fundraiser supporting the completion of the absurdist science fiction film “PARAPRONOIA: Lucid Nightmare.”
Going forward, Cosmic Culture Club will support a different regional artist, project or organization with each gathering.
