Theatre 99 will host internationally renowned improviser TJ Jagodowski for two special shows on Friday, Nov. 14, and Saturday, Nov. 15, at 8 p.m.
Jagodowski has been a fixture of Chicago’s legendary improv scene for 30 years. He is one half of the acclaimed improv duo TJ & Dave, whose fully improvised two-person shows at Chicago’s iO Theater and off-Broadway in New York have earned praise for their emotional honesty, nuance, and humor.
He has appeared in films including The Ice Harvest, Stranger Than Fiction and Oz the Great and Powerful, and is widely recognized from his long-running Sonic Drive-In commercials alongside David Pasquesi.
“Having TJ Jagodowski join us for a weekend at Theatre 99 is a dream come true,” said Brandy Sullivan, co-artistic director of Theatre 99.
Each night, Jagodowski will join Theatre 99’s veteran cast for a fully improvised longform performance. Every show will be unique, created in the moment and never to be repeated.
“He’s one of the most respected improvisers in the world — the kind of performer who reminds you why improv is an art form,” said Greg Tavares, co-artistic director of Theatre 99.
