The Miller Gallery announced their upcoming duet show, "A Delicate Balance," featuring the work of Holly Graham & Scot Rittenbaum. The opening reception will take place on Thursday, September 26th, 2024 from 5 to 7 pm.
A Delicate Balance, Holly Graham and Scot Rittenbaum’s duet exhibition at The Miller Gallery is sure to delight admirers of serene, ethereal works of art. These two abstract artists present distinct approaches to the creative process. Rittenbaum's whimsical abstracts and Graham's 3D mixed-media collages will transport viewers to a personal space of zen.
Holly Graham is a mixed media artist residing in Charlotte, NC.
“Color evokes memories and emotions for me, and it is the central focus of my work. My three-dimensional collage series is created from intuition and based on music, memories, and color relationships. Mixed materials rich with texture such as thick acrylic paint, gouache, watercolor paper, canvas, foam core, and balsa wood are placed into compositions, giving them a tactile quality that draws the viewer in and creates contrast and depth. These elements are then mounted at varying depths from the substrate, creating an undulating rhythm and giving each piece its innate musicality." - Graham
Scot Rittenbaum is an abstract artist residing in Charleston, SC.
“I try to embrace my feelings whether happy, sad, joyous, thankful, questioning, or whatever else it may be, and express them freely (a challenge I love) as I employ color, line, shape, and texture to create mainly abstract works. While I manage some degree of control, I try to let the magic happen through the healing journey of letting go and seeing what happens. While I hope others will find meaning, comfort, beauty, joy, or whatever touches them in my art, I want you to know that my love, heart, and soul are in each artwork influenced by the journey, family, friends, and increasingly the Lowcountry of South Carolina.” - Rittenbaum
A Delicate Balance runs through October 10th, 2024. All works will be available for purchase online at themillergallery.com.
