The Dewberry is presenting its annual holiday Christmas tree collaboration with John Derian and The Green Vase. A celebration of American style and craft, the installation reflects the ethos of one of Charleston’s most beloved hotels.
A playful nod to the John Derian flat that debuted at the hotel several years ago, this year’s tree features dozens of the brand’s signature mushroom ornaments, creating a forager’s-delight centerpiece. The main tree is flanked by several smaller trees surrounded by moss and faux bois, forming a miniature forest within the walls of the hotel.
To further complement the theme, The Green Vase — the handmade paper-flower company founded by artist Livia Cetti — has created bespoke garlands featuring its signature paper creations, complete with dewberry flowers and potted paperwhites and amaryllis placed throughout the Living Room. The result is a warm, immersive holiday experience, bringing the outside in with a magical winter forest in the heart of the Holy City.
For those unfamiliar, The Dewberry borders historic Marion Square and sits just steps from the shopping and dining along King Street, Museum Mile and the Gaillard Center. The hotel offers 153 thoughtfully appointed rooms, world-class service and panoramic views. Located in the former L. Mendel Rivers federal building (circa 1964), The Dewberry pays homage to Charleston’s midcentury architectural heritage.
The property reflects owner John Dewberry’s vision of “Southern Reimagined,” developed over the course of an eight-year renovation and preservation of the building. Guests can enjoy multiple event spaces, the nationally celebrated cocktail program at the brass bar in the Living Room, the rooftop bar and lounge at Citrus Club, The Dewberry Spa and the Saks Fifth Avenue Club on the second floor.
