Art has the power to preserve memories, evoke emotion and remind us of our shared humanity. For internationally recognized Impressionist painter Frédéric Payet, every canvas begins with that belief.
Born on the island of Madagascar, raised in Paris and now based in Charleston, Payet has spent more than three decades developing a distinctive artistic voice inspired by French Impressionism while creating a style uniquely his own. Self-taught and renowned for his expressive palette knife technique, his paintings are celebrated for their luminous color, rich texture and ability to transform everyday landscapes into emotionally resonant experiences.
Before becoming a full-time artist, Payet restored antique paintings, immersing himself in the techniques of Europe's master painters. That experience shaped his understanding of composition, light and color while inspiring him to forge a contemporary Impressionist style that bridges tradition with modern emotional expression.
Throughout his career, Payet's work has been exhibited in galleries and exhibitions across the United States and Europe, including Paris, New York, Chicago, Santa Fe, Washington, D.C., Miami, Palm Beach, and numerous private collections. Today, his Charleston gallery serves as both a creative studio and cultural destination, showcasing his work alongside carefully selected international artists.
Known for vibrant cityscapes, tranquil European villages, floral landscapes and expressive abstracts, Payet believes color is far more than an aesthetic choice.
“Color is one of the languages of the soul. It influences our mood and emotions,” Payet said of his creative philosophy.

The evening is presented by The Table & Gallery in collaboration with Dr. Miluna Fausch, owner of Miluna TV Network, bringing together art, culture, media and meaningful conversation in an immersive experience.
