A beloved tradition for 44 years, the Charleston Friends of the Library’s That BIG Book Sale — a four-day event attracting more than 4,000 book lovers — will return May 14-17, 2026, at the Omar Shrine Auditorium.
The public can expect more than 50,000 books across genres including children’s, fiction, history, cooking, gardening, foreign language, classics and more, with prices starting at $1. Proceeds from the sale support programming at the 18 branches of the Charleston County Public Library.
In addition to books, shoppers can look forward to meeting local authors, raffle drawings for teachers and more.
Schedule:
- May 14 — 4 to 7 p.m. (members’ night)
- May 15 — 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- May 16 — 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- May 17 — 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
