The Taylor Festival Choir (TFC), led by Rob Taylor, opens its 2024-2025 season with choral concerts entitled "Music for the Masses" on Nov. 16th at 1:30 pm at Mepkin Abbey (part of their annual Founder’s Day activities) and on Nov. 17 at 3 pm at Circular Congregational Church.
Led by conductor Robert Taylor, this concert will feature a diverse set of musical movements from the Catholic Mass, with music by renowned composers such as Thomas Tallis, William Byrd, Johann Michael Bach, Michael McGlynn and Roxanna Panufnik; and Taylor Festival Choir Composers-In-Residence Dr. Brian Galante and Dr. Chelsea Loew.
TFC comes to this concert fresh off of recording sessions for their upcoming album Pathways to Healing, which will be released on PARMA/Navona recordings this coming spring. TFC was also recently invited to perform at the prestigious American Choral Directors Association National Conference in March 2025. TFC is one of 3 American professional choirs to receive such an invitation.
Regarding "Music for the Masses," TFC Director Rob Taylor comments that “performing at Circular Congregational Church and Mepkin Abbey is always incredibly special. Both have a unique spiritual essence–an essence that cuts across all theological and philosophical boundaries. We are privileged to be able to enhance the vibe of these spaces with a mixture of masterpieces from the 16th and 17th centuries, and modern masterworks.”
