STYLEPUBLIC presents “The Den,” an immersive, site-specific resale installation conceived by celebrity stylist, fashion editor and creative director Ayoka Lucas in collaboration with The Station Park Circle and Hed Hi Studio.
Transforming resale into a spatial and sensory experience, “The Den” reimagines the gallery as a fully realized living environment — part domestic interior, part art installation and part shoppable space. Clothing, furniture and everyday objects are arranged as both compositional elements and collectible pieces, creating a narrative shaped by nostalgia, intimacy, personal style and reinvention.
The clothing is personally sourced and curated by Lucas through thrifting across New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, bringing together men’s and women’s fashion spanning different eras, histories and points of view. Presented across three public showings, each will feature a newly refreshed clothing collection, giving guests a different selection to discover every time.
The furniture is curated by The Station Park Circle, whose eclectic marketplace brings together vintage furniture, art, objects and one-of-a-kind finds. For “The Den,” these pieces become the foundation for fully styled environments, creating unexpected combinations of clothing, objects and interiors.
Hed Hi Studio, a contemporary art and creative space on Charleston’s Upper King Street, provides the setting for “The Den.” Known for its unconventional exhibitions and creative programming, the studio brings together art, culture and community in an evolving gallery environment.
The result blurs the lines between exhibition, retail and interior design, turning the gallery into a world that can be explored, experienced and shopped.
Unlike a traditional exhibition, everything in “The Den” is for sale.
“I’ve always believed that style has very little to do with newness and everything to do with perspective,” Lucas said. “‘The Den’ is an invitation to slow down, look differently and discover beauty in what already exists.”
“The Den” marks the first in a new series of STYLEPUBLIC installations exploring fashion, interiors, objects, sustainability and the stories people tell through the things they choose to live with.
