Driven by a punchy Americana vibe and laced with layered harmonies, "Lose Your Way" is the perfect midsummer anthem. With lyrics always at the forefront of its music, Southbound 17 reassures listeners that even though moving forward can seem like an insurmountable task, you know "in your bones & in your soul" when it's the right time to leave something behind.
"Lose Your Way" plays like a road trip-ready soundtrack for chasing the next sunset. The lyrics unfold like a road map. There are many paths you can take in life, and although the path of least resistance can feel comfortable, there are always new trails to blaze. The track closes with the friendly reminder, "You're gonna be OK, even if you lose your way."
This release marks the band's latest collaboration with Nashville-based producer Zachary Manno (BRELAND, Lady A and Haley Mae Campbell). Building on the sonic landscape the team created on 2024's EP Southern Gothic, the new song provides a clear and refined look at what Southbound 17 sounds like in 2026, with more music to come later this year.
The new single will be accompanied by the band's first music video since 2020. A collaboration with local creatives and videographers Fay/Money, the video plays like a nostalgic dream. From pastel skies in downtown Charleston to the interior of the historic Queen Street Playhouse, the backdrops highlight the beauty of the South Carolina Lowcountry and provide the perfect canvas for the song.
