The South Carolina Aquarium will kick off its holiday programming on Friday, Nov. 28, offering seasonal activities ranging from diving elves to Santa visits.
Festive dive shows will take place daily inside the Great Ocean Tank, the deepest saltwater tank in North America. Guests can watch underwater elves swim among thousands of animals and explore galleries decorated for the season. Daily animal encounters will also give visitors the chance to meet creatures up close.
Santa will make weekend appearances throughout the holiday season. Guests can reserve a time to meet him from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 29–30 and Dec. 6–7, 13–14, and Dec. 19–23. A general admission ticket or member reservation is required, and professional photos will be available for purchase.
Aquarium Aglow, the Aquarium’s nighttime holiday experience, opens Friday, Nov. 21. The event features large-scale light displays, festive photo spots and appearances by “Scuba Claus” in the Great Ocean Tank. Food and beverages, including alcoholic options for guests 21 and older, will be available for purchase.
