Soul Fly CHS, a new community-driven festival presented by Marsh Wear, will make its debut in Charleston on May 16, 2026, blending fly fishing, live music, art, and conservation into a one-of-a-kind cultural gathering rooted in Lowcountry spirit.
Soul Fly CHS also announced its inaugural music lineup, led by The Stews and Mountain Grass Unit. Additional performances by Leon Majcen and Bandito will round out the day, delivering a genre-blending soundtrack that mirrors the festival’s laid-back, high-energy vibe.
Designed as an antidote to traditional trade shows and more serious outdoor events, Soul Fly CHS is built around breaking down barriers and building community—welcoming lifelong anglers, first-timers, creatives, and simply, the curious, into the same space. The festival’s guiding belief is clear: connection is conservation.
Kyle Schaefer, co-founder of Soul Fly CHS, emphasizes “Transformative change and progress is possible through our collective power and a shared vision. We dream of deep lasting community connection, abundant fisheries and resilient ecosystems - together we can all have an impact.”
“This isn’t about who belongs and who doesn’t,” said Alec Griswold, co-founder of Soul Fly CHS. “It’s about the hang—music in the air, time slowing down, and conversations that pull people together in unexpected ways.”
Soul Fly CHS will feature:
- Live music from regional and national artists
- Fly-fishing experiences and interactive games for all skill levels
- Art installations and creative pop-ups
- Conservation storytelling and education, spotlighting the waters and communities that sustain the sport
- Local food, drinks, and coastal brands that reflect Charleston’s culture
A limited number of early-bird tickets are on sale Tuesday, Jan. 13 for 24 hours, through Wednesday, Jan. 14, at 12 p.m. Patrons are encouraged to secure their spot at the lowest prices before tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, Jan. 16, at 12 p.m.
As presenting sponsor, Marsh Wear brings its deep Lowcountry roots and commitment to coastal stewardship to the event, helping anchor a festival inspired by life on the water.
Importantly, proceeds from Soul Fly CHS will benefit nonprofit partner Charleston Waterkeeper, supporting efforts to protect and restore Charleston’s waterways for future generations.
