Sofar Sounds Charleston will host Día de los Muertos: A Night of Remembrance and Celebration on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, beginning at 7:30 p.m. The event will take place at a West Ashley venue, with the address revealed 36 hours before showtime. Curated by Alicia Silva Flores of Jardín Bonita, this intimate gathering will celebrate Mexico’s beloved Day of the Dead tradition through live music, storytelling, and community reflection.
Guests can enjoy live performances and artful storytelling in a setting rich with cultural symbolism. Tickets are $25, and seating is limited.
Guests are invited to take part in a community altar (ofrenda) by bringing a photo or small memento of a loved one who has passed. These items will be returned at the end of the evening. The altar will be adorned with marigolds, candles, papel picado, sugar skulls, and other traditional offerings, encouraging everyone to join in the spirit of remembrance, celebration, and connection.
