Sofar Sounds Charleston returns on May 1 with a one-night-only pop-up concert, For the Dog Lovers, transforming a secret, dog-friendly local venue into an intimate, immersive live music experience centered on community, connection, and a shared love of animals.
For one evening, the undisclosed space will become a dedicated listening room—where music takes priority and distractions are set aside. Known for reimagining how people experience live music, Sofar Sounds was founded in response to the scale and noise of traditional concerts. Instead of crowded venues and background chatter, Sofar creates intentional environments where artists and audiences connect in a more meaningful, personal way.
Now operating in hundreds of cities worldwide, Sofar Sounds hosts secret shows in unexpected spaces such as living rooms, rooftops, and neighborhood venues. Locations are revealed 36 hours before each event, with the artist lineup announced upon arrival.
The May 1 event will feature three emerging artists spanning genres, with seating arranged close to the performers to foster a sense of discovery and connection. In honor of the evening’s theme, the show will celebrate Charleston’s vibrant community of dog lovers, with opportunities to support local animal-focused initiatives and connect with fellow pet owners.
As with all Sofar events, guests are encouraged to put phones away, pause conversations, and fully engage with the performance—creating a shared experience that feels both intimate and memorable.
Attendance is limited to preserve the atmosphere that defines Sofar shows. Tickets are available through Sofar Sounds. The venue location and artist lineup will be shared with confirmed ticket holders shortly before the event.
