Local award-winning band Shovels & Rope today announced that they have a new album, Something Is Working Up Above My Head, set to be released on September 6th. The new record, the group's sixth, is already available for pre-order. The duo also announced that tour in support of the album will stop at the Music Farm for a two-night stand in October.
The band says the album is "full of character-driven narratives and cinematic vignettes of flawed protagonists who are often derailed by their shortcomings." The first two singles “Colorado River” “Love Song From A Dog” (featuring Gregory Alan Isakov on backing vocals) can be heard here. The latter can also be streamed via YouTube below.
