Wit’s End Comedy Club has announced that comedian Sean Patton will perform at the North Charleston venue from Dec. 4–6.
Patton, who recently appeared as the gym teacher in the critically acclaimed second season of FX’s English Teacher, is widely considered one of the most honest and dynamic comedians working today. His credits include Conan, The Tonight Show, This Is Not Happening, Maron, Comedy Central, Netflix, and numerous national festival appearances.
For Charleston’s comedy community, Patton’s appearance is more than a tour stop—it's personal.
Wit’s End owner Josh Bates first opened for Patton six years ago at Creekside Comedy, an experience he says helped shape his path as both a comedian and a future club owner. The pair have remained in touch since, exchanging advice and late-night conversations about comedy and building a successful venue.
“There were late nights I’d call Sean asking how to make Wit’s End stand out,” Bates said. “I would even send him the blueprints of the club. And he told me the thing that has guided us ever since: ‘Make comedy first, and everything else will fall into place.’ That’s Sean. Genuine, brilliant, and invested in the art.”
