School of Rock Mount Pleasant is excited to announce that its elite House Band has launched a new performance residency at Topgolf North Charleston. Beginning this summer, the nine-member student band will perform live one to two Saturdays each month, bringing high-energy rock performances to guests while gaining valuable real-world stage experience.
The School of Rock House Band is made up of the school's most dedicated and accomplished student musicians. Selected through auditions based on musicianship, performance ability, teamwork, and commitment, House Band members serve as ambassadors for the school by performing throughout the community at festivals, special events, and professional venues.
The new residency at Topgolf North Charleston provides these young musicians with a consistent, professional performance opportunity while giving local audiences the chance to enjoy live music from some of the Lowcountry's most talented emerging artists.
"One of the most important parts of a musician's development is performing regularly in front of live audiences," said Matt McFarland, owner of School of Rock Mount Pleasant. "This residency gives our House Band students the opportunity to build confidence, strengthen their stage presence, and experience what it's like to perform consistently in a professional venue. We're incredibly grateful to Topgolf North Charleston for partnering with us to help support the next generation of local musicians."
School of Rock's performance-based approach combines one-on-one music instruction with group rehearsals and live performances, giving students the opportunity to apply their skills in authentic performance settings. According to School of Rock's 2025 Social Impact Study, 84.8% of parents reported improvements in their child's confidence, communication skills, and ability to engage in group settings after participating in School of Rock programs. The
study also found that 82.1% of parents observed improved collaboration and relationships with peers from diverse backgrounds.*
The Topgolf residency reflects School of Rock Mount Pleasant's ongoing commitment to connecting students with meaningful performance opportunities beyond the classroom. Throughout the year, the school's House Band performs at community festivals, charity events, local venues, and regional showcases, helping students develop both as musicians and as confident young leaders.
Community members are encouraged to visit Topgolf North Charleston on scheduled performance Saturdays to support these talented student musicians and experience live rock music in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.
