Local musician Ronnie Johnson will perform at Hutson Alley every Saturday night, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. With a career spanning over 30 years, Johnson has captivated audiences with his powerhouse vocals and dynamic stage presence.
Originally from Valdosta, GA, Johnson has called Charleston home for most of his life and has become a staple in the local music scene. Recently crowned Charleston City Paper’s 2024 “Best Male Vocalist,” his accolades speak for themselves. In 2023, he was inducted into the Low Country (SC) Music Hall of Fame, following his 2020 induction into the Georgia Country Music Hall of Fame.
Johnson’s impressive career has taken him across the globe, from NYC to Santiago, Chile, Wimbledon, England to Santa Monica, California, and everywhere in between. He has shared the stage with legendary artists including Tom Jones, Loretta Lynn, Jeff Cook (Alabama), Brian Johnson (AC/DC), BJ Thomas, and Grammy Award-winning songwriter Richard Leigh. His talents even landed him an invitation to perform in NYC for People Magazine alongside Rock and Roll Hall of Fame icon Chuck Berry.
Locally, Johnson spent 14 years as the featured entertainer at Wild Dunes Resort, making history as the only corporate entertainer across all 20+ Destination Hotels & Resorts. His song “For Old Times Sake” even made it to #75 on Billboard’s Top 100.
