Back for its fourth year, Rip City at the Movies is becoming a bit of an institution in the independent film and comedy community! For the past 3 years, this event has been a celebration of locally made short films, sketches, animations, music videos and more. It’s a showcase of the wide range of talent found right here in the lowcountry with the goal of fostering growth in the South Carolina Film Industry.
Rip City at the Movies is somewhere between a premiere and a festival but it’s really just an excuse to rent the Terrace and host local creators and enjoy their works on the big screen. Unlike our usual monthly show, there are no live performance elements for this show, it’s all filmed material. Everything seamlessly weaves together through the amazing animations of Opus Thimble.
The best part is that you can be a part of the event. Film submissions are open to artists of all disciplines. Submissions are open now through August 3rd and anyone can submit. Visit namelessnumberhead.com/movies for more information about requirements & guidelines. Selections are chosen by committee and will be announced on August 11th 2026.
Until then tickets are available online now. This is one of our biggest events of the year and tickets often sell out so if you’re interested, get your tickets early. Early bird tickets are available now through July 30th and General Admission tickets go on sale starting August 1st. We can’t wait to see you at the movies!
