Charleston County Parks will wrap up this year’s Reggae Nights Summer Concert Series at James Island County Park on Friday, Aug. 1, featuring Mystic Vibrations.
Charleston-based Mystic Vibrations hails from Jamaica but moved to the U.S. in 1992. They have released two albums, “People Get Ready” and “Busy Street.” The group also has their own record label, Mystik Musik, started in 2003, that allows them to produce their own albums and those of other roots reggae bands. Mystic Vibrations has opened for several other reggae bands such as Yellowman, Inner Circle and The Wailers.
The Reggae Nights Summer Concert Series is open to all ages. A variety of food options from local food trucks and vendors, as well as beverages (beer, wine and Pepsi products) are available for purchase on site. Crafters and vendors will also be on site with souvenirs and gifts available for purchase.
Gates open for the event at 7:30 p.m. and music begins at 8 p.m. Event gates will close to incoming traffic at 10:30 p.m. and music will end at 11 p.m.
Advance tickets are $20 per vehicle (up to 15 people) and available at CharlestonCountyParks.com. Tickets purchased at the event will be $30 per vehicle (up to 15 people). Gold Pass holders will be admitted free when presenting their pass at the gate, if space is available.
The Reggae Nights Summer Concert Series takes place in the park meadow, and guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs, blankets, etc. Concerts will take place rain or shine. No outside alcohol or coolers are permitted into the event. Dogs are welcome, but must remain leashed at all times.
