Press Release
PURE Theatre is proud to present the third show in their 20th Anniversary Season, Martin McDonagh's Hangmen. The show will run from January 12th to February 4th at the Cannon Street Arts Center.
It's 1965, and execution by hanging has just been abolished in the United Kingdom. Naturally, all of Oldham, Northern England wants to know what Harry, the second-best hangman in the country, has to say about it. As the news breaks, Harry's pub is overrun with locals and reporters looking for a quote until a visitor arrives with a darker and more mysterious agenda.
The show is directed by PURE Core Ensemble member Mark Landis and will feature R.W. Smith, David Mandel, Cristy Landis, Randy Neale, Josh Wilhoit, Brannen Daugherty, Addison Dent, Curtis Worthington, Michael Kuffel, Joey Kirkman, and Jacob Loader. The design team includes Richard Heffner, Ambernice Tolliver, and Mark Landis.
Martin McDonagh is an Anglo-Irish playwright and screenwriter. His dark comedies include The Banshees of Inisherin, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, The Cripple of Inishmaan, Lonesome West, In Bruges, and Pillowman.
Tickets range from $30 to $45. There will be two Pay What You Will Performances on January 12th and 18th. There are $10 student tickets available at the door before performances.
