Mount Pleasant Towne Centre is once again teaming up with the Charleston Animal Society to kick off THE big game weekend with the cutest football game of the year. Pup Bowl IX returns Saturday, Feb. 7, from noon to 3 p.m. at The Oaks, located across from Barnes & Noble.
Guests can cheer on adoptable puppies while enjoying live music, browsing local vendors and taking part in hands-on activities for children. Tickets for the family-friendly event are $10 in advance and $15 on the day of the event, with 100% of proceeds benefiting Charleston Animal Society. Tickets are available online.
The event will be emceed by Silvana Bravo, with music provided by DJ Luigi of Latin Groove Entertainment. Festivities begin at 12:30 p.m. with a performance by the Lucy Beckham High School Pep Band, followed by the national anthem performed by a student from Bach to Rock. A rock-and-roll halftime show by The Novatones is also planned.
Food and drinks will be available from a variety of local vendors, including Zimo’s Gyros, Holy City Spuds, Aroi Thai, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Holy City Popcorn, James Brown Famous Boiled Peanuts and Holy City Homemade Italian Ice, along with beer and wine from Burtons Grill & Bar.
One lucky adopter will also win a $500 gift certificate to Park West Veterinary Associates to help support their new puppy’s first wellness visit.
