Nashville-based songwriter Pierce Alexander today announced the release of his sophomore album, I Don’t Know How to Behave Online, set to drop in early November. The album, according to Alexander, is a collection of songs that explore the theme of people projecting false realities.
To give fans a taste of what’s to come, Alexander has released the first single, "Dispel." The track gives listeners a preview of what’s to come from the seven-song album, delving into the journey of wandering through a seemingly endless city—outwardly appearing fine while quietly grieving the loss of an older version of someone.
"‘Dispel’ is a song about the struggle to move forward, even when part of you may never fully do so," Alexander said. "On the surface, the lyrics describe wandering through various parts of a city, searching for meaning in the absence of someone. But the city also serves as a metaphor for life. It’s easy to blame yourself or wonder what could have been done differently, but eventually, you’re left with no choice but to try to dispel the feelings of guilt."
Recorded in a home studio in Charleston, the track features Alex Brouwer on drums, with album collaborator Corey Campbell also serving as producer and mixer.
