After hearing from supporters who wanted more opportunities to get involved through fun, accessible events, Pet Helpers is answering the call with the launch of a new annual fundraiser.
Rescue Rocks will debut Friday, Oct. 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Cannon Distillery on James Island, bringing together live music, signature handcrafted cocktails, casual bites, dancing, a raffle and an evening celebrating the animals and the community that supports them.
Unlike traditional fundraising galas, Rescue Rocks was intentionally designed to offer a more relaxed, approachable experience with a ticket price that makes it easier for more members of the community to participate while still making a meaningful impact for homeless pets.
“Over the past year, our supporters have shared that they wanted more opportunities to come together in a fun, casual setting while supporting the animals they care so deeply about,” said Melissa Susko, executive director of Pet Helpers. “Rescue Rocks is our response to that. We wanted to create an event that's welcoming, affordable and full of energy — one where people can enjoy an incredible night out with friends and know they're helping provide second chances for homeless dogs and cats. We hope this becomes a tradition our community looks forward to every year.”
Guests will enjoy a performance by a six-piece band featuring musicians from Sol Driven Train and Motown Throwdown, performing a mix of rock, country, soul, Motown favorites and classic hits. Throughout the evening, attendees can also enjoy beer, wine, signature handcrafted cocktails, casual fare, a raffle, special surprises and plenty of opportunities to celebrate alongside fellow animal lovers.
Inspired by the theme Denim & Diamonds, Rescue Rocks encourages guests to embrace the spirit of the evening however they choose. Whether it's a favorite pair of jeans with a little sparkle or simply coming as they are, the focus is on enjoying a memorable night of music, community and compassion.
Every ticket sold directly supports Pet Helpers' lifesaving mission, helping provide food, shelter, medical care, enrichment and adoption services for thousands of homeless dogs and cats each year.
Tickets are $100 per person and are available now.
